Negligent Hospitals should be slapped with more than a Fine

I’ve come across this blog which highly interests me – not in the positive light though. I don’t know why news, where the blog was based – failed to emphasize this sort of thing which should have greatly interest us, i.e. to be cautious as it can cause us our limbs and our very own lives.
The blog was blatantly and rather ‘news-likely’ entitled “Hospitals Slapped with $25,000 Fine each”. It tells the story of four hospitals which was recently fined for various health regulations and practices violations. To reiterate, the names of the hospitals were:
1. Palomar Pomerado Hospital
2. Scripps Green Hospital
3. Sharp Grossmont Hospital
4. Promise Hospital (formerly Villa View Community Hospital)
Do not wonder if eventually you will see or hear them again in news, facing charges and suits before the courts of justice. What they done are unforgivable – definitely, apologies won’t suffice.
In this age when health and well-being issues are now largely entrusted to hospital, health care providers, etc. we should be wary of these establishments, which instead of promoting our well-being will be the very entity which can cause us harm.
To illustrate, one patient suddenly became aware of the on-going surgery on her because of a malfunctioning machine. The other fell off an operating table! The other died because a staff isn’t intelligent enough to activate a stationary ventilator, an additional personal injury, a wrongful death – terrible!
These hospitals should be slapped with more than a meager $25,000 fine from where they stand. Expect the victim’s family to file complaints of medical malpractice, among others, against those who are responsible – or should I say irresponsible.
